Conversion optimisation for law firms

Get more matters from the traffic you already have.

Winning more clients does not always mean buying more traffic. Often the fastest, cheapest growth is converting a higher share of the visitors you already get. We find what is quietly costing you enquiries, and fix it.

What this is really about

Every visitor who leaves without acting is money already spent.

Most firms respond to slow growth by trying to buy more traffic, more ads, more SEO, more spend at the top of the funnel. But if the site converts poorly, pouring more visitors in just means paying to lose more of them. The leak is downstream, and more traffic does not fix a leak.

Conversion optimisation works the other end. Every visitor already cost you something to acquire, through ads, content or reputation. Converting even a few percent more of them into enquiries is often the highest-return work available, and it needs no extra media budget at all.

The gains hide in unglamorous places: a form that asks for too much, a call to action that is easy to miss, proof that arrives too late, a page that loads a beat too slowly. Small, deliberate changes to the moments that decide contact compound into materially more matters from the same traffic.

Illustrative scenario

A commercial firm is proud of its rising traffic but frustrated that enquiries are flat. The site looks fine, so the problem is invisible, until you watch how people use it. The contact form asks eleven questions before anyone will start it, and the phone number is easy to miss on mobile. We shorten the form, surface the phone, and add proof beside the call to action. Traffic is unchanged; enquiries rise by a third.

Why generic SEO leaves firms exposed

Three gaps, and the second is nearly universal.

The market only recognised the second gap recently, which is exactly why the firms closing it now are gaining ground while the rest stand still.

01

The traditional-ranking gap

Most firms under-invest in the fundamentals that decide local rankings, technical health, structured data, consistent directory information, content that matches how clients actually search. Roughly 46% of all Google searches carry local intent, and the local map pack appears in the overwhelming majority of them. A firm missing from that pack is missing from most of the searches that matter most. (Source: Sagapixel.)

02

The AI-visibility gap

AI assistants do not rank pages, they parse, synthesise and cite. Content written purely for traditional SEO often cannot be cleanly read or quoted by an assistant, so the firm is simply not mentioned when a prospective client asks for a recommendation.

ChatGPT reached around 800 million weekly active users by late 2025, and a large majority of consumers say they intend to use AI search more, not less. This gap is not stable, it widens every month a firm leaves it unaddressed. (Sources: OpenAI; HubSpot.)

03

The measurement gap

Most SEO reporting stops at rankings and traffic, numbers that feel like progress but cannot tell a partner whether the work produced matters. Ranking for a term nobody valuable searches, or drawing traffic that never enquires, is motion without result.

How we do it

We fix the leaks, guided by evidence.

We find the specific points where interested visitors give up, fix the highest-impact ones first, and measure the result rather than guessing.

Step 1

Conversion research and funnel analysis

We study how visitors actually behave, where they arrive, hesitate and leave, to locate the real leaks rather than the assumed ones.

Step 2

Prioritise by impact

We rank the opportunities by likely return, so we fix the changes that move enquiries first rather than tinkering at the edges.

Step 3

Fix the decisive moments

We optimise the form, the calls to action, the proof and the speed, the places where a ready visitor decides to act or leave.

Step 4

Measure and iterate

We measure the effect of every change and keep the ones that win, so the site improves continuously rather than once.

The cost of leaving it

Search visibility compounds, and so does its absence.

SEO and AEO are not switches; they are compounding assets. Authority built this quarter pays off for years, which is the good news. The uncomfortable corollary is that the absence compounds too: every month a firm is invisible to the assistants, a competitor who started earlier is accumulating the citations, the authority, and the matters that follow, and that lead is not easily clawed back later.

There is a narrow window here that will not stay open. AI search is new enough that most law firms have done nothing about it, which means the firms acting now face little competition for citations in their practice areas. That will not last. As the field crowds, the cost of catching up rises and the advantage of having started early hardens into a moat. An audit tells you exactly where you stand on both channels today, with no obligation beyond the audit itself.

What you are probably thinking

The objections we hear most, answered plainly.

How is this different from CRO?

Conversion optimisation is the same discipline applied across your whole site and journey; our CRO service is the rigorous, test-led version focused on specific funnels. This is the broader, faster-moving work that fixes obvious leaks first.

Do you guarantee a lift?

No honest agency can guarantee a number, but we can guarantee we will measure everything and act only on evidence. If a change does not help, it does not stay.

Don’t we just need more traffic?

Sometimes, but if your site converts poorly, more traffic multiplies the loss. Fixing conversion first means every future visitor, paid or organic, is worth more.
