How We Help AMK Lawyers Get Back on Track

Every prior agency treated AMK as a lead-gen problem. It was a positioning problem. Here's what we built instead, and where it stands right now.

The Challenge

AMK had spent real money with a succession of "performance marketing" agencies. Most were generalists with a law firm page on their site, enough to claim category expertise, not enough to possess it.

But the media buying wasn't the real failure. Every one of those agencies treated AMK as a lead-gen problem when it was a positioning problem.

Personal injury is the most contested corner of Australian legal advertising. National firms with eight-figure brand budgets. Claims aggregators buying the same keywords. And underneath them, dozens of local firms running the identical playbook: navy and grey, stock imagery of a handshake, "fighting for you," a No Win No Fee badge. Total sameness.

In that market, an injured worker in Ipswich doesn't choose. They recall. And AMK, despite 1,000+ clients represented and a decade of compensation work, was recalled by nobody. Worse, the firm was about to walk into Regional NSW, where recall was at absolute zero and the incumbents had spent twenty years buying it.

The prior agencies were selling a Datsun 200B into a market that wanted a Mustang. You cannot performance-market your way out of being indistinguishable. Spend more and you buy more expensive anonymity.

The Strategy

A position the nationals structurally cannot copy. The big firms process files. AMK's clients consistently describe something different: direct access to their lawyer, someone who returns the call, a firm small enough to handle every detail personally and local enough to sit across a table rather than route you into a call centre queue in another state. That matters everywhere, but it matters most in Ipswich and regional communities, markets the nationals service remotely and treat as file volume. In a category where claimants feel powerless, that isn't a soft benefit. It's the entire reason to choose AMK, so we built the brand on it rather than burying it.

Distinctive brand assets. Following Romaniuk's work at Ehrenberg-Bass, colour, type and a visual system built to be recognised with the logo removed. In a category of near-total sameness, distinctiveness is cheap to seize and expensive for competitors to copy once claimed.

Salience over immediate response. Nobody is in-market for a compensation lawyer until the day they suddenly are, and on that day they call the firm they already remember. Salience is what makes branded search cheap and cold search expensive. It's the difference between paying to argue for attention and having the injured party type your name.

Built for AI search, not just Google. The site is hand-built in HTML, CSS and structured JSON-LD, no bloated CMS, no JavaScript-rendered content that agents can't parse. AI assistants increasingly answer "who do I call about a workplace injury near Ipswich" directly, and they answer it from clean, machine-legible, entity-consistent data. Most law firm sites are effectively invisible to that layer. AMK's is engineered for it: explicit service entities, jurisdiction-specific legislative detail, real case citations (Allen v O'Donnell, James v USM Events, Speziali v Nortask), structured FAQs and consistent location signals. Holding and growing that position as AI search matures is a core part of our ongoing brief, and it's disproportionately valuable in regional markets, where search competition is thinner and a well-structured site can own the answer outright. This is the same discipline behind our AEO and website design work.

Physical presence. Signage delivered. Billboards next. Billboards are unfashionable in performance circles. They're also the single fastest way to manufacture recognition where a firm has none, which is precisely AMK's position in Regional NSW. Regional outdoor is cheap relative to metro, the audience is concentrated on a small number of arterial routes, and the competitive noise is a fraction of Brisbane's. A billboard doesn't produce an attributable click. It produces the moment eight weeks later when someone searches "AMK Lawyers" instead of "compensation lawyer near me." That search costs a fraction and converts at a multiple.

Where It Stands

This is a live engagement, and we'd rather show you the work than dress up early numbers.

The takeaway

The agencies before us optimised the wrong variable. They asked how to get AMK more clicks. The question was why an injured worker in Ipswich should remember AMK at all, and, increasingly, why an AI assistant should name them.

Brand isn't what you do after performance marketing works. It's what makes performance marketing affordable.

Ready to change the terms of your own fight?

If you've cycled through agencies and the numbers still don't work, the problem probably isn't the numbers.
